ISU VS QTG Playing 11, Pitch Report & Player Stats:- It’s been a fantastic start to the 2024 Pakistan Super League, and this match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators promises to be another highlight. Before Wednesday’s games, these two clubs were two of the competition’s three undefeated teams, but that might change when Multan Sultans defend their perfect record against Lahore Qalandars in Match 7.

We are still a few matches away from determining who will be the best teams in this year’s competition, but Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators both seem to be the genuine thing so far.

ISU VS QTG Teams Preview

Islamabad United

After surprising the 2022 and 2023 Champions Lahore Qalandars in Match 1, Islamabad United fell short of making it two wins in a row as they faced Multan Sultans in Match 2. However, they were only defeated by 5 wickets with 1 ball left, and they will be able to bring a lot of positives to this game.

Jordan Cox shone with the bat against the Sultans, while Agha Salman has been unstoppable at number three. Their batting lineup is quite outstanding. Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Tymal Mills are expected to pose the most serious threats with the ball.

Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators have scored 206/5 while batting first and 188/5 when chasing, so they have nothing to fear with the bat in hand! They also have enough players ready to step up and deliver with the willow, with Jason Roy, Saud Shakeel, Khawaja Nafay, and Sherfane Rutherford already making significant contributions. In addition, they still have seasoned captain Rilee Rossouw poised to make his first huge score in the task!

With the ball, we believe their bowling assault is the strongest in the competition, and they will be eager to prove that again in this match.

ISU vs QTG Pitch Report

The Gaddafi Stadium always yields runs, and the bowlers have to work hard to get wickets. Often, the finest bowlers must sacrifice runs to eliminate batsmen, and we estimate a par score of about 200 in this game.

It will not be the hottest game of the tournament, with temperatures dropping from 19 degrees to 15 degrees during the contest. Humidity has always been a concern in Pakistan, and this game will be no exception, especially in the second innings.

ISU vs QTG Head to Head

Islamabad United won both head-to-head games last season, one by 63 runs and the other by two wickets. Quetta Gladiators last defeated Islamabad in 2022.

ISL vs QUE Top Batsmen

Jordan Cox, Agha Salman, and Colin Munro are our batting predictions for Islamabad United. Munro, a left-handed opener, is yet to get going in this tournament after two single-figure scores, but he is a strong hitter with more than 10600 runs in this format. Cox struck two fours and two sixes in the previous game, and the 23-year-old has now scored 2114 runs in his T20 career.

Saud Shakeel, Khawaja Nafay, and Rilee Rossouw are our batting options for the Quetta Gladiators. Skipper Rossouw is yet to make a big score this season, but he seems to be close after hitting three fours against the Lahore Qalandars. Shakeel enjoys opening the batting with Jason Roy, and the 28-year-old has been in excellent form in domestic cricket in 2024.

ISL vs QUE Top Bowlers

Naseem Shah, Shadab Khan, and Tymal Mills are Islamabad United’s ball-player selections. Captain Khan has had a good start to the league with both bat and ball, and he will be hoping for his third wicket of the PSL in this game. Shah has now taken 90 wickets in T20 cricket, with his best statistics of 5/20 and two other four-wicket hauls.

With the ball, we propose Akeal Hosein, Mohammad Hasnain, and Mohammad Amir for the Quetta Gladiators. Amir removed the dangerous Sikandar Raza in Match 4, and the left-arm fast bowler will try to keep his wicket-taking streak going in this encounter. Hosein alters his speed and place of delivery, making scoring runs difficult. He has taken 123 T20 wickets in his career.
