The mini-auction for the Indian Premier League 2024 was nothing short of a massive auction for India’s uncapped stars. Because several uncapped Indian players got crores of rupees in this year’s IPL auction, with batsman Sameer Rizvi being the most expensive among the uncapped Indian players. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy recently, chasing 355 against Maharashtra, he stepped in at No. 6 for Jharkhand and struck an unbeaten 67 off 37 balls to seal an unlikely victory.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have signed uncapped Indian batter Sameer Rizwi for Rs 8.4 crore. Rizwi, with a starting price of Rs 20 lakh, sparked a bidding battle between CSK and Gujarat Titans. However, CSK eventually won. Rizwi scored 455 runs in 10 matches in the UPT20 league this year, averaging over 50 and scoring two tons and fifty. His runs were at a strike rate of more than 188. In 11 T20s for UP, he has scored 295 runs at an average of 49.16 and an SR of over 134, including two fifties.

1. Sameer Rizvi (Chennai Super Kings) – 8.40 crore

CSK signed Uttar Pradesh batter Sameer Rizvi for Rs 8.4 crore at the IPL 2024 auction. His basic price was Rs 20 lakh. CSK and Gujarat Titans were in a bidding battle before the Delhi Capitals stepped in. GT backed out at 7.6 crore when DC decided to shake things up. But CSK had the final laugh.

Rizvi rose to prominence during the recent UP T20 League, in which he scored 455 runs in nine innings, including two hundreds for the Kanpur Superstars. The 20-year-old had demonstrated his power-hitting talent in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy earlier this season. Rizvi smacked 18 sixes, one for every eleven balls he faced.

2. Kumar Kushagra (Delhi Capitals) – 7.20 crore

Kumar Kushagra, a Jharkhand wicketkeeper batter, aroused the eye of numerous clubs in the IPL 2024 auction, with the Delhi Capitals eventually obtaining the player for Rs. 7.2 crore. To sign Kushagra, the Capitals had to fend off interest from both the Chennai Super Kings and the Gujarat Titans.

The 19-year-old was the sixth-highest run scorer in the Deodhar Trophy earlier this year, with 227 runs in five innings at 109.13 strike rate. This includes a fifty for East Zone in the final defeat to South Zone. Kushagra made an impact in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 67 off 37 balls to assist his team beat Maharashtra by 355 runs. The right-handed batsman was a member of India’s Under-19 World Cup squad for 2020.

3. Shahrukh Khan (Gujarat Titans) – 7.40 crore

A month after being released by the Punjab Kings, Tamil Nadu big-hitter Shahrukh Khan has found a new Indian Premier League team in the Gujarat Titans after receiving another large salary in the IPL 2024 mini-auction held in Dubai on Tuesday, December 19. Gujarat, the winners of 2022, paid Rs 7.40 crore for the lower-hitter batter.

4. Shubham Dubey (Rajasthan Royals) – 5.80 crore

Shubham Dubey is a middle-order batter from Vidarbha who was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for a staggering Rs. 5.8 crore during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 auction in Dubai on Tuesday.

Dubey scored 221 runs in seven innings, with a strike rate of slightly under 190, in the just ended Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He scored 58 off just 20 balls as an Impact Player in Vidarbha’s chase of 213 against Bengal. It was Vidarbha’s most successful chase.

5. Yash Dayal (Royal Challengers Bangalore) – 5 crore

RCB purchased Yash Dayal, a Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh native, at the IPL auction for Rs 5 crore. Yash Dayal is a left-arm fast bowler. Yash Dayal bowls at 140 kph. Yash Dayal was also named for the Indian team in 2022.

Yash Dayal was picked by the BCCI for the Indian cricket team’s 2022 visit of Bangladesh. Yash Dayal was chosen for the Indian team led by Rohit Sharma. He was unable to play the match owing to an injury.
