The following month, he made his first-class debut for Delhi against Assam in the Ranji Trophy 2022–23. However, before making his senior debut for Delhi, KKR chose him to replace the injured Rasikh Salam for the 2022 IPL season for a base fee of Rs. 20 lakhs.
