Harshit Rana made his IPL début for the Kolkata franchise on April 28, 2022, and concluded with a score of 1 for 24 in his first appearance against the Delhi Capitals. He will participate in the 2023 IPL season for the Kolkata franchise, as he was retained prior to the 2022 mini-auction. Rana is able to surprise the batsmen with his variations and makes good use of his height to deliver exceptional bouncers. With his hard-hitting, he is also capable of turning in a stretch with the bat.

Rana made his List A debut for Delhi against Meghalaya in November 2022 as part of the 2022-23 Vijay Hazare Trophy. The following month, he made his first-class debut for Delhi against Assam in the Ranji Trophy 2022–23. However, before making his senior debut for Delhi, KKR chose him to replace the injured Rasikh Salam for the 2022 IPL season for a base fee of Rs. 20 lakhs.
